How the Skate Size Calculator Works

Getting the right skate size is the single most important factor in skating comfort and performance. Unlike shoes, skates from different brands can vary by 1–2 full sizes even for the same foot measurement. Our free roller skate and inline skate size calculator uses a millimetre-based conversion system to match your foot length to the exact size available in the brand you want — whether that's Rollerblade, K2, Powerslide, Moxi, or Riedell.

Shoe Size to Skate Size Chart

Skate sizing is based on the actual length of your foot in millimetres (the Mondopoint system used across the industry). Use this chart to convert a US or EU shoe size to its skate-size equivalent, then run the calculator above to match it to a specific brand and see what's in stock. For a full step-by-step walkthrough, read our complete roller skate size chart guide.

Roller Skate & Inline Skate Sizing Tips

  • Inline skates run 1–1.5 sizes smaller than your regular shoe size. If you're a shoe size 10, start at inline size 8.5–9.
  • Quad roller skates (Moxi, Riedell, Chaya) usually run true to women's US shoe size.
  • European brands like Powerslide and FR Skates use EU sizing. Our calculator converts automatically.
  • When in doubt, size up half a size and use thicker skate socks for a snug fit without toe pain.
  • Hockey skates typically run 1.5–2 US sizes smaller than shoe size.

Frequently Asked Questions — Skate Sizing

How do I find my roller skate size?
Use the ProSkaters Place Skate Size Calculator above. Select your current shoe or skate type, enter your size, choose the skate brand you want, and the tool instantly calculates your correct size — accounting for brand-specific differences.
Are roller skate sizes the same as shoe sizes?
Usually not. Women's quad skates often run true to US shoe size, but inline skates and European brands typically use EU or mm sizing. Brands like Rollerblade size 1–1.5 sizes smaller than US shoe size, while others like Moxi run true to size. Our calculator handles all conversions automatically.
How do inline skate sizes compare to shoe sizes?
Most inline skates (rollerblades) run 1 to 1.5 US sizes smaller than your regular shoe size. For example, if you wear a US men's 10 shoe, you likely need a size 9 or 9.5 inline skate. However this varies by brand — always use a brand-specific size chart or our calculator for accuracy.
What is my rollerblade size if I wear a men's size 10 shoe?
For most rollerblade brands (Rollerblade, K2, Powerslide), a men's US size 10 shoe typically corresponds to a size 9 or 9.5 inline skate. Use the calculator above and select your specific brand for the most accurate recommendation.
Can I use this calculator for kids' skate sizes?
Yes. The calculator supports children's skate sizing. Select 'Kids' or the appropriate category, enter your child's shoe size, and choose the target brand. For growing children, some parents size up half a size to extend the life of the skate.
What if my exact size isn't available in the brand I want?
The calculator shows the closest available size. If your ideal size is out of stock, we recommend sizing up by half a size and using thicker socks for a snug fit. You can also contact our Toronto experts for personalized fitting advice.
Do quad roller skate sizes work the same as inline skate sizes?
No. Quad roller skates and inline skates use different sizing conventions. Women's quad skates (like Moxi or Riedell) typically run true to women's US shoe size, while men's quad skates often run a half size small. Inline skates generally run 1–1.5 sizes smaller than shoe size across genders.
Are hockey skate sizes the same as shoe sizes?
Hockey skates typically run 1.5 to 2 US sizes smaller than your shoe size. A player wearing a US size 9 shoe usually needs a size 7 or 7.5 hockey skate. Our calculator supports hockey skate conversions alongside recreational inline and quad skates.
